Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition trade show Ft. Lauderdale

Eric in Orlando

Recommended Posts

I was at the Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition (TPIE) show yesterday down in Ft. Lauderdale. I didn't get as many photos this year as I was helping with the judging.By the time we were finished I was too tired to walk around again. But there is always some interesting tropical plants and new varieties.

Outside the entrance to the convention center. Nice planting of bromeliads and tall coconut palms

That Neoregelia 'Voodoo Doll' is gorgeous. Full shade or will the sun even bring out more color?

Nice Eric, what kind of cold tolerance does the Alocasia 'loco' have? If they fry to the ground, will they come back every year like my colocasis?

I believe to said it was a sport of the common Alocasia 'Polly' so if you can grow that one outside then 'Loco' should do well also.
