It is really cold in Guatemala this week. Dropped to 55F in my highland garden with strong winds. In the higher elevations it is dropping to the mid 20s .

I knew who he was when I saw the listing you posted. I bought from him years back when he had a slightly different name. He disappeared from eBay for a while but is now back - I have him on favorites. He's also showed up at the Palm Beach Palm Sale. Overall I was satisfied with the quality of his plants but he is expensive. I think I got my second, smaller Cham dam from him way back then. It died about a year ago. $25.00 for a tiny seedling is price-y but he's the only game in town. Right now I don't have funds in my Paypal account so I'll just have to wait. Wish I knew his seed source.
This is a pretty sturdy little palm. I leave mine outside on the lanai all winter, at least so far. Actually I'm more worried about my sweltering summers with this guy. I suspect he enjoys cooler weather. Come spring I will probably move him deep into my mini-jungle where I keep my Cham tuercks. Texture of its leaves is similar to Cham adscendens if you are familiar with that species. Definitely a shade palm. Doesn't seem bothered by insects or mites like some Chams but sprinkling some used coffee grounds around its stem won't hurt. Don't overwater it. A really nice palm that should be more available.
