An Early Jan 2008 FL freeze

3 posts in this topic

OK folks, I've been in Texas for a few weeks, chilling my bones for a while, but I've been watching the pending gloom and doom for the first week of '08 in FL.

Not saying I want to see the damage, but let's start seeing the results.

Here's to a warmer rest of 2008...

Ken.

Palms did "OK" Ken, except for Welfia regia seedlings, but broadleaf tropicals like breadfruit and Pentagonias "caught" a bad spell with the cold weather.  My Panama Hat palms really got nailed too!!

Two weeks of above average temperatures have really helped a lot however!!  It's sad that only ONE NIGHT in the upper 30's to low 40's had to happen.  If not for that cold & windy night, it's been "almost summer" in Broward this season!!

Thaings will l;ook fine by late March, I'm sure, Ken!!
