I had one in a pot outside the front door of my mother's house years ago. It was about that size, I think the fronds can get almost double the size in the picture.

Aloha Gene, well, I killed a few along the way, but these two have managed to keep the faith. I had them in pots for awhile and decided to just plant them out. They've been

in the ground now for a few months and seem to be doing well. Sometimes metallic, sometimes green, could be a lot of variables. The one has started to flower, but I have no expectations at this point of getting viable seed.

Those are looking great tim!  I put one in the ground before but It died.  I neglected to water it.  In hindsight I think it was way too small.  It's cool that yours is flowering already-- fingers crossed that you get seeds in the furture.  But I think with Licualas, these need to flower a dozen times before they are mature enough to produce seeds.
