Here's some before and after pics of three Dypsis saintelucei I planted a few years back.  They're not the fastest grower but they've been steady enough, especially after only being inground 27 months

The first pic was taken on 4-10-16 and the next pic was today.

Obscenities have been screamed.

Dry is better. Faster drainage, etc.

They are consistent performers.  I planted a smaller one about 4 months before you planted yours.  Obviously mine today isn't as big as yours are, but it too has made good progress in 31 months.  May 2016 compared to 12/31/2018 photos of the same plant.  I look forward to mine having the robust trunks that yours have in the not too distant future.  I keep mine cordoned off from the dog who likes to use that spot to scoot under the decorative fence.  I worry that without the supports she will run into before it's got deep enough roots to withstand the impact of 50 pounds going 50 kilometers an hour!

Wow, those look really lush compared to how they usual look in Southern California. I mean, they grow well enough here, but yours look fat and happy..

Boy Steve, those really did fatten up nicely! Looks like they are ready to take off, be interesting to see their growth rate now that they've got some size to them. You're going to love when the crown shaft turns white.

Me Too!    Although it is just a few feet away from a Scotchiana which is doing great. I think you have to foo foo these till they get some girth.

Really attractive palms, especially in a grouping of three or more.

Thanks for the photo Daryl.
