Tsunami warning at the moment.  You can read more at the link below:

7.5 Earthquake - New Caledonia

I'm guessing the tsunami warning is now long over.  According to the link you provide this happened on December 4th about 8pm.  Interesting that I didn't see anything about any tsunami warnings across the Pacific when looking at surf forecasts the last couple of days.  It must have been a very localized tsunami watch like the one with the Anchorage quake recently.  7.5 quake is a healthy one that can cause some significant landside damage independent of the tsunami.  Hopefully not much damage to life or property in NC and Vanuatu which is also mentioned in the article.

Yeah, just heard about it myself and didn’t see anything on here, so I thought I would share.

I am most attracted to New Caledonia palms because there are more than just one main genera.

A tsunami warning was issued by the Commonwealth Government for the Queensland coast but nothing happened.

The Australian plate is really getting quite active lately. Luckily for us in Australia most of the action happens out on the edges. In the last few months we've had a few tremors here. About a month ago early in the morning we were woken by the house rattling like mad. Epicentre about 150km away. No damage and nothing to be concerned about for us but then you wonder what's going to happen on the edge of the plate. After the first tremor the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia happened.
