Just curious what you all have used in the past and what has worked the best for any of you that have had this issue.

I have several palms that show this symptomology and need to get going on the treatment ASAP!

Thanks in advance for your responses

-Cheers!

Soapy water works real well. It’s always a combination of spot treating & trimming things up for good air circulation.

Good advice by @quaman58... I'd add that if you have ants farming aphids on the plants, that can cause a build up of sooty mold as well.  If you spot ants climbing up and protecting the aphids, KO the ants and let some of nature's finest aphid predators have a ball.

Here is your product right here. It's available at any garden store. About 15 bucks. Make sure to get Amdro Ant Block. Very specific product. Lots of other brands, they don't work. Just put a little bit at the base of the plant, and it'll kill the ants, and not kill any of the predators that you need. It'll work for just about any kind of scale insect, which is where sooty mold comes from. Great stuff, and very minimally-invasive environmentally.
