Sabal minor Spear Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello, I recently reported one of my Sabal minor seedlings, but then spear was brown when I saw it and it seemed to be buried in the soil a bit, which I did not notice. Anyway, I reported it (making sure to keep the growth point higher) and applied hydrogen peroxide to the spear, it did not fizz to much. Do you think it will be all right?

Both my sabal minor and sabal palmetto had their spears rot this past summer. I think due to all the rain but they are still alive.

It is so wierd that it seems that I gave them too much water, but I water these about once a week (well) and the pots have drainage holes and everything. Do you think that the soil may not drain well? I will see a little water come out of the bottom when I do water them and I have a good amount of perlite in there. Maybe I will report all of them over the weekend in a really well draining mix.
