Spear pull- sabal palmetto

Recently moved.  We had moved several of our sabals from previous home.  Last winter, we had a straight week of sub freezing temperatures, several lows of 7 degrees.  After moving, my favorite sabal had a spear pull.  I thought it was done.  Several rounds of peroxide and copper.  Recently saw heavy new growth.  Has anyone else seen a sabal recover like this?

Hello, welcome to the forum. I have dug up Sabal palmetto before and had them completely die (or what I thought was them dying) and spear pull, then was surprised with some of them regrowing their spears. If you moved the Sabals they probably were going through transplant shock and the cold tempature did not help. But yes, it is normal for a palm to recover like yours did. But, you also got lucky since a lot of the times when a Sabal spear pulls it is done. Could you post some pictures of it?

Greetings! This palmetto had spear pull from the past winter. The stunted frond that pushed out after can be seen on the right.
