Trachycarpus seed heat damage

Hey everyone. I’ve been trying to germinate 4 species of trachycarpus. I’ve heard and read of so many different styles to germinate. I choose baggie method and I was told bottom heat is ok. But a lot of people have said to use room temperature. So far out of 150 seeds I’ve had 5 germinate. My question really is. Did putting the seeds on a heat mat that was 90 degrees kill or damage the seeds? I mean it does get hot in areas they naturalize ? Or will they still have a chance being back at cooler temps?

Side note my fortuneis were fresh fresh and the others not so sure

Probably not. You have to have temperature fluctuation,  not just a solid temp.

Once you get the hang of it you'll get over 90% on most trachycarpus. Here is a batch of seed that went down on May 14th.

That’s insane! I know we talked the other day and thanks for the help. Should I put my seeds outside. Right now temps fluctuate from 28c to min 17c night time

Go to home depot and buy a cheap timer, set the on/off times and then forget about it.

I got my seeds in and showed them in June. Now August. Are these seeds still viable? A few here and there I have crushed with my fingers so I question how much good these are?

If you can smash them in between your fingers they are rotten and no good.
