One of my favorite butia in town. The slim trunk and open crown really made it look tropical imho. Sadly,  it had not pushed out a spear by the end of july, and was removed. Another victim of the harsh winter event.

What a shame. It looks quite mature and seems to have been there for awhile. 

It doesn't look to have much of a microclimate and isn't planted near any protection?

I'll be memorializing one of my trachycarpus that got sick in may and also hasn't pushed out anything since april. Name of the game I guess...
