Tabebuia gemmiflora , know by purple or red Ipê ,found only inthe north of Minas Gerais, in the Jequitinhonha valley , very ornamental  and rare , of small size . Wow ! very nice... in my home town of Darwin Australia the Tabebuia is a common street tree, although not the one you are showing. I must keep an eye out for this variety. We have the common yellow flowering 'Argentea' and the pink 'Rosea'

Our flowering season begins in late August.

In Brazil we have approximately : Yellow Ipês ( Tabebuia and Handroanthus )  : 12 species , Purple Ipês : 5 species and White Ipês ( Caixeta - Tabebuia cassinoides - is one specie ) . ALL WONDERFUL !!!

Tabebuia roseoalba . In my opinion one of the most beautiful  ,but its flowering is less lasting .
