Meryta balansae For Sale

Rory

Recommended Posts

I’ve got some very overgrown Meryta balansae for sale in 3 or 4 inch pots. These plants are just about 3ft tall. Local pick up is preferred, but I can also ship in pot (if shipped the upper leaves will more then likely need to be trimmed or folded over, growing point will be untouched though).

Plants are $35 for local pick up or $45 plus shipping if shipped.

PM me with any orders or questions. Thanks for looking!

Hey Len, I did get some seed second hand from when you had it then, sadly never got anything to germinate from that batch. Since then I’ve bought two plants and one other group of seed (from Josh). I was lucky and the two plants I put in my garden turned out to be a male and a female. The plants I’m offering here are from seed I produced from those two plants of mine last year. Amazing the difference fresh seed makes for these, I had nearly 100% germination on mine, but they were harvested, cleaned and put out the same day.

Hoping I’ll be able to make this more readily available in Florida, it’s still very rarely seen over here, but it grows great for us too.

Nice work. Those seed Josh had were from mine. This is a great plant. I have 6 planted in my yard. And yes, fresh is key. They go bad quickly.

Those look great - none of mine sprouted either. Truth be told, I let them sit on a shelf a little too long. :)

Thanks guys!

So to anyone else looking at these, this group of plants are sold out. I plan on having another group of similar size plants ready in a month or two, so if interested feel free to PM me and I’ll reserve some out of the next group. Thanks!

I have male and female plants and just need to remember (in Feb/Mar time range) to pay attention and pollinate.  Several years ago I was doing this regularly and selling plants here, but just got lazy.  I have been meaning to do it, but must my chance this year.  If people are interested, I'll try next year,  and if you PM me in Feb/Mar to remind me the chances are higher.

I did remember to pollinate and have bunch of fruit almost ripe now.  Should have seedlings by fall if all goes well.

Well that worked.  I can't remember how fast they grow but should be ready by late fall this year or spring next year.
