Planted a 15 gallon Copernicia Baileyana and a 5 gallon butia x parajubaea hybrid today. Have been wanting these palms for a long time now. Can’t wait to see them grow up. Anyone else growing these palms that could post pictures?  Thanks

My thoughts too. That Copernicia will get huge. My largest is still only 4' tall but its crown is 5'+ diameter. Those leaves are rigid too.

Can you please send me pictures of your copernicia? Thank you very much.

I agree with both of you that it is too close to the fence. Unfortunately I don’t have many other locations to plant it. The fence will probably be replaced within the next couple of years anyway so we will see what happens. Luckily my neighbor loves palms.

Very nice. I have both of those, but the butia x parajubaea sunkha is potted for now. This is my C. baileyana - recently planted about a month ago.

These photos are of my largest C. baileyana taken today. I planted it on my garden lot as a well rooted seedling circa 2012. It is approx. 5' tall by 5' wide. This palm wants elbow room.

Beautiful Baileyana!!! Thanks for posting pictures. I am assuming that my palm will grow quite a bit slower due to my so cal climate. I have the tendency to plant palms too close to my fence due to having a small property. Lucky for me my neighbors enjoy the palmy look without having to spend the $ themselves. I had a B. Alfredii that was planted right up next to my fence and the neighbor asked if we couple remove that section (only a privacy fence) so they could enjoy the palm and let it grow happily. Hope my other neighbors feel the same way. :)

Great neighbors. How fortuitous. I'm more or less under the same circumstances. My neighbor has been very arecaceae-welcoming as well.

It's a good thing to have good neighbors.
