Chamaedorea seeds from Central america?

Hi all,

anyone from central america here who's able to send me viable seeds from different Chamaedorea growing in his area? Collected a few seeds in Costa Rica last year but seems that non of them are germinating. Will pay for postage and packaging for sure. As I love the Chamaedorea palms so m uch it's hard to collect them as seeds aren't available so much in Europe.

If you have any just send me a PM.

Thanks so much

Eckhard

Hi Darold,

yes, I know this source but to be honest I'm not happy about the freshness of their seeds. Most of the ones I bought do not germinate since 9 month.

Hello Giuseppe,

tried also with new seeds but up to now no success (not only Chamaedoreas). Have some success with Chamaedorea seeds I purchased from a meber of the EPS (C. microspadix and klotzschiana) and I collected at a botanical garden.

Normally I do not have problems to germinate palm seeds, have actually a lot of P. acaulis, theophrasti, some Brahea armata, Butia x Jubaea F2 (seeds from RPS no germination, TCHP 100%) and lots of Trachies (Italy and Bulgaria)

Did the seedsI sent to you last year germinate? What is your way to success for the Chamies?

Regards

Eckhard

Hello Eckhard

yes.the seeds that you sent me, all sprouted, I put the seeds in a pot with a bit of land in my garden and with soil bought, the good one, the pot I always put it out even in winter, if the seeds are good begin to sprout in early June until early November
