So I’ve germinated a store bought coconut and dates. And after a week with. No heat tonight I did a check on over 200 seeds 25 different species and finally my first seed from seedman.com has germinated a sabal palmetto my favourite tree!

Nice job! They are my favorite too, making me think of when I was a small child and we were at the beach walking back to our condo through though Sabal palmetto filled sand dunes. A good feeling!

Yeah exactly. It reminds me of driving from Ontario down to Florida and seeing the first ones along the highway in South Carolina and being so pumped that the warm weather was coming.

Great! Also my favorite, even if they are pretty common in this area, being one of the most common palms.

25 is a lot of species and 200 is a lot of palm seeds! :)

Yeah I got the bug. Last year I purchased my first trees 2 trachycarpus and 1 Serena’s reopens in 3 gallon pots. From a local place that imports them. Then realized I can germinated my own with some time money and equipment and I’m hooked I decided to buy a whole bunch of different species and try them all and see what works and what doesn’t and eventually I’ll be hoarding a bunch for my self but also giving some away and selling some to help pay for the equipment I purchased

thanks everyone for the support.
