Or, bottle that stuff, whatever it is, and sell it to Big Pharma.

You mean getting some of your palms in the ground, right?

The topic title is kinda funny though. I have no idea if you can edit the topic.

Be grateful the topic did not mention unlocking a secret, then this thread would have really gotten attention. :D

Great finds! I will say the hardest one to grow will  be the dark mealy... likes dappled light, heat and humidity... tough combo in So Cal. Thats why the do great in Green Houses, but outside, not so much... Still surprised some of those are not tried more in So. Flo.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Nice score, Chris!

I have a 'bejouf' that I got from Floribunda, as a 1 gal, two years ago.  It got partial direct sun at first, and burned, but now does well in heavy filtered light, and little direct sun.  It's gotten soaked a few times now, and I'm not convinced that's it's too sensitive to overwatering.  Not too fast.

I've always wanted to try a 'dark mealy', but never committed to dropping the coin, on one.  A friend bought a 5 gal from Dwight, last time I was up there.  It's done ok, but seems like a finicky plant.   Let us know!

Yeah the 5 gal dark mealy is from Dwight definitely does well in shade doesn’t like the sun same with bejouf the other thing I noticed with dark mealy is it doesn’t like over watering . Dwight has nice rare gems at a fair price unlike most others that buy from floribunda and throw them in a pot 3 sizes to big and mark it up 1000% . The bejouf is probably one of the biggest I’ve seen out here in so cal yours I believe is a little head of mine . I got a lot of cool rare stuff from Dwight ontop of what I posted also got a few rare Copernicias from him macroglossa rigida and hospita . We need to hook  up Steve for sure!!! It’s been a while

Glad to hear all your stuff is doing well.  There's definitely deals to be found, it seems!

Here's a pic of my 'bejouf'.  It's pretty small, but has done really well; for reference, the rocks are softball sized. It's been there maybe 18 months?  You can see the leaf that got burned, but all of the newer leaves are really crunched down.  The 3 new, undamaged leaves are all shade grown.  Dennis Willoughby has an amazing 'bejouf', which is what encouraged me to try one.  I have a D. decipiens on standby, and for now, that's the only other big Dypsis, on deck.
