nice specimen of Phoenix rupicola at Disney's Epcot

Eric in Orlando

This Phoenix rupicola is growing at Disney's Epcot at the Morocco pavillion. Its been there since this section opened in 1984. Notice the constriction on the lower section of the trunk. This was caused by the big 1989 freeze.

Nice palm! Too few rupi’s around and the most elegant looking of the genus.

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.

After several years of  sitting there laughing at me, my rupicola  has really put on a major growth spurt at last and I can't wait for it to get a trunk and really look good.

Nice! Looks like skinny Majesty Palm.

That reminds me....there’s loads of Phoenix palms at Universal, I took this pic in 2015 from the parking garage, is the palm on the far right a Phoenix rupicola?

It looks like a hybrid. Universal has lots of Phoenix hybrids planted out.
