Planting Golden Adonidia

I have a couple of juvenile golden Adonidias struggling in pots. I germinated them from seeds a few years back. I didn't expect them to be as robust as regular Adonidias which are fecund as rabbits around here but these pale imitations are wimpy beyond belief. I keep them on the lanai under shadecloth from our blazing sun but they still mope around. I've decided to put them in the ground in the back yard jungle and let them take their chances in part sun/shade depending on the season. They will get irrigation 2x per week and normal summer rainfall. If they croak they're outta here.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

After Irma's shakeup, I've got some space opened up in the jungle. I also have small Heterospathe elata, Dypsis mananjarensis lucubensis & Dypsis lastelliana on standby.

I've seen several sources online that said that this was an extremely adaptable palm (that would not tolerate freezing temperatures that Cape Coral rarely, if ever, gets), so go ahead! The pots are probably restricting their growth and overall strength anyway (I don't know this, but I suspect; I can't see how much the palms have grown into their pots).

I planted them because they were not happy in pots. I waited until the chance of a freeze had passed. So far both are still alive and appear to have grown a bit.

Just got my 2.5 metre Adonidia palm.  Little root bound, but looking good.  Also 2 sprouted from seeds, just poking through
