I am not sure if there is a way to tell if it is a McCurtain or not. Did whoever you bought it from happen to know where it is from?

No way to tell if it is a McCurtain or not. You have to trust the person selling the seed or plants.  I have pictures of all plants that I pick seed from for future reference including the lat/long details.
