I wonder why those tops ones are braces as if recently transplanted at that size.

I remember seeing numerous very tall CIDP’s when I was down in B.A. a couple years ago.

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.

Those braces look pointless. Maybe if they were 3x bigger

I think it’s just senescence with age, they are very tall.

Here is a pic that I ran across the other day on the computer from a few years ago.  I think this was near Brentwood.  I remember the ones in San Francisco being just as nice as the one pictured above in Quito, but not nearly as large as the LA ones.  I believe these were planted in the mid 20's if I remember my history correctly.

Are these two some kind of CIDP hybrids? Never seen them have such long and thin trunks before.

They’re in Destin FL.

Once you see the CIDP's in San Francisco, CA, every other CIDP will appear lacking.  I have never seen CIDP's as lush and dark green as the ones in Frisco  (and its immediate surroundings, i.e: Pacifica)

5 year high 42.2C/108F (07/06/2018)--5 year low 4.6C/40.3F (1/19/2023)--Lowest recent/current winter: 4.6C/40.3F (1/19/2023)

Yes, they seem to prefer cooler temperatures and lower humidity like in their native Canary Islands.

That may be in the Canary Islands. However San Francisco, although constantly cool, is quite humid. I guess, what I'm trying to say, that area is not a dry one, as say, San Diego. (I am unaware of the year round RH in the Canary Islands)

Pics are from May of this year. These are in the Mission District.

They certainly look lush and green. Not sure what the soil is like in San Fran. but they seem to be getting the nutrients they need over there.

I’ve been to Tenerife. They look like that over there as well.
