Could it be Dypsis madagascariensis clumping form X with Dypsis leptocheilos?

I think I agree with Matty. Those leaves are very upright.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Comic is 100% correct! I know all the background info on this palm and the others in the same batch. There were a handful getting around a few years back and this is 1 of them.

Someone here produced a lasteliana x cabada cross but it,was not near as nice as yours. It was clumping and had less distinguished red. They said that the red trait was highly variable throughout the batch.

Your palm looks great.

I'm thinking this might be the same palm I've seen at the Marcus Garden. I sure wish I had one.

Sooo ........ who is up for the challenge to produce seed again, someone must have both species who could give it a try. 

It is a very pretty palm

anyway just a thought .....:)

I have both species, but the leptos are in juvenile form :crying: I will definitely be planting my leptos near my cab this spring. I'll hand pollinate when the time comes.
