Dude, we are talking about 3 meters below surface or 9'! What is the purpose  of such a planting depth? If it is supposed to be protection from colder higher soil layers, why don't you incorporate around root zone a heating cable? I know A Dutch who has experimented a lot with latter method and used to grow outdoors in the Netherlands a Syagrus-Arecastum. Aeration would be much better anyway...
