Livistona?

I "found" this palm in our (rather big) garden. I have only started with palms so I had no idea what I was planting when I placed it there.

I guess it's a Livistona, but of course I'm not sure.

Thanks for some ideas what it is.

Thanks for the feedback

I've thought it's a decora (because it's the one easiest to buy here) but obviously there is not a big difference between decora and australis. I've never seen a L Saribus for sale here in our area, but I'm sure they must be around.

Looks like a L. saribus but mixed with something. Maybe a L. saribus x chinensis.

I was thinking L. saribus too. Decora has much smaller spines.

It doesn't look like a decora.  The petioles look 100% saribus, but saribus usually has groups of 3-4 fused leaflets deeply divided in between, whereas yours appears to have separate leaflets, much like decora.  Nice palm, interesting.

I agree with eric and topwater. The armament looks like saribus, but those fronds are off.  Even the armament is somewhat tame for saribus too so i think it is a hybrid of saribus and something else.

Welcome on Palmtalk , Tom,

Interesting if you got an hybrid.

Here the thread of our L. saribus in Doranakanda gardens.

Thanks for the interesting contributions!  I have really no idea where I got the palm from, maybe I will do a bit of research about L saribus. Whatever it is, I will anyway enjoy it (despite the vicious spikes!)
