I planted the first palms in my yard 10 summers ago. Many failures but a lot more successes along the way.

Aaron, I'm having the same issue. Each image on my phone is 4.1 meg, so one at a time is all I've been able to do since I got a new phone. I've been having to reply to myself to add. Great Cyphophoenix by the way. A much bigger palm that I would have guessed, based on their fairly small stature when younger.

Looking great.  I enjoyed seeing your garden back in 2013 when the Palm Society toured.  Looking forward to seeing an update on your Dypsis marojejyi!

The majojejyi was growing to perfection. Hands down the nicest palm in my yard. Even flowering until it stopped growing and died. The worst loss of all my plants.

Love your place Aaron! Any theories why your Mad Fox carked it?

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I lost two, but they were much smaller and neither in the ground.  Yours looked so good, it was an inspiration!  I took some photos on that palm society tour (below).  You can see the reason for the sad faces, and questions about what happened.:crying:   Did it coincide with any events you can nail down?

Such an inspiring landscape! Love that front walk of palms and bromeliads.

Aaron, mine did the exact same thing! After first flower it stopped growing and slowly declined and rotted. Total bimmer.

Hey. Where are those NewCal shots? :)

Looking awesome Aaron!  I recognize a lot of that stuff.... ha!  Most of your stuff has passed mine now even though your garden is about 5 years younger.  You have one of the best climates for California.

Thanks guys!  I do plan on a amen change on here, just can't figure out how to do it on my phone. Life is good out here and I'll start a thread as soon as my yard gets underway. I also need to post some final pics of my Fallbrook garden before we moved.

I have no idea why the mad fox died, but I know a lot of people have had issues with the seedlings dying and Ellidro lost one bigger than mine that looked amazing for years.  I need to find another one.

here are some of my New Cals. Most were planted very small. The next three were seedlings with only a few leaves when planted and have done great

Kentiopsis magnifica. I have killed so many of these in pots that I planted the last two seedlings I got from floribunda. They are both doing great.

Bought from floribunda as basselinia humboldtiana. Any thoughts on this being the real deal or not?

Nice garden, your stuff is looking great! Your B. humboltiana looks like the real deal and is doing well for you.
