Santa Barbara has a very mild zone 10a climate. Here are some photos of palms that can be seen around my area.

What I believe to be Roystonea oleracea. These are located near the beach at UCSB.

This is a species of Pritchardia. I originally posted this photo in this topic: http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/51887-palms-at-ucsb/#comment-788706.

Here's a view of the Courthouse. There are several palms in this photo, including a butia, Jubaea chilensis, Arenga engleri, Acoelorrhaphe wrightii, Phoenix canariensis and Rhopalostylis baueri.

I don't know what this is. My initial guess was that it was a species of Archontophoenix but it looks too narrow and the crownshaft is whitish. Maybe Veitchia arecina?
