Help with my Cyphophoenix

I was examining my Cyphophoenix elegans this morning when my hand bent the small spear and broke off the tip. Is this fine? Should I do anything about this?

SB, I wouldn't worry about breaking off the brittle membrane at the tip of the spear, which sounds like what happened.

I'm sure there is an anatomical name for this growing point that protects the leaves as the spear pushes upward, but it will eventually break off or disintegrate on it's own over time anyway. You just helped it along.

I've had it happen many times and the result seems inconsequential.
