I think these are seeds...image.thumb.jpg.88c8d553cd6e279afcdb114dI was able to pollinate last month from what I thought was inflorescence on another Needle in a different part of the yard as this one was flowering at the same time...just want to confirm...this is a first for me...

Wooohooo...thought so...when do they mature? Should I overwinter the seeds outside in the cold and try to get them to germinate in the spring?

Being in Virginia I'd pull them off in early November and bring them inside and then germinate in the spring.

You'll know when they're ripe:  they smell like vomit when they're ready.  But just for a week or so!

I wouldn't harvest them until I was sure they are ripe - I believe ripe fruit are orange. I didn't know about the vomit odor. Early Nov. is not that cold in NoVA (I lived there for decades). This palm comes from areas that fall to the teens each winter and seeds have to withstand those temps.

Thank you all for the advise...excited to see is I can get some to germinate in the spring! That is...if the squirrels don't get them first...they eat everything and I mean everything...varmints...<_<
