Butia x parajubaea cocoides

I have been growing this beautiful Butia x parajubaea cocoides since spring last year as a one leafs seedling.

Today, mark the anniversary. I am about to have a second thought that this is some kind of pure Butia. But before I jumped to conclusion, I would like to hear from the palm enthusiasts and experts on this board. Is this the real deal?20170623_170312.thumb.jpg.afd7a4ca20871a

It appears to be the "real deal". The color is greener than most Butia mutts. Mine looked like that until the start of the 3rd year. After that the flatter (less "V" shaped) greener leaves are distinct. Where was yours from originally?

Hi 112°, Lo 80°

I got this from Patric in Norcal.

I think your palm is the 'real deal' for two reasons.  #1 Patric is meticulous and very careful about his hybridization efforts.  #2 This cross exhibits the 'hybrid vigor' associated with an F1 cross.  Look carefully at your two images.  To increase so much in just 12 months is a very rapid growth rate.

Here is a photo of the pollen donor.

Sure does grow fast. I believed it's even out grew my mule palm and twice the speed of my (BxJ)xS palm.

Ok. 5 month passed update. Here the current pictures of this supposedly butia X bjc. Now that is growing much bigger I can see it clearly that is a butia on steroids. This palm seedling is growing fast from that 1.5 years from a 2 leafs seedling to this. Will this be what it is, it is? Below is picture attached. From all pictures I see so far none look like it. This palm is in full sun other then the fence behind it. Est. About 5 ft to tip of front.20171229_220118.thumb.jpg.24ad1b91e9bc12

I think this was part of my October 2015 order with Patric along with my larger BJxQ, BJ xJ and other JxB and BxJ's.  I grabbed a few butix x PJ Sunkha which I think will perform much better as Sunkha tolerates our summers MUCH better than TVT or PJC.  Fresno is about as warm, but far less humid.
