Prestoea ensiformis 'entire leaf'

Interesting palm. I had thought originally that it was going to be solitary with entire leaves and a bit more robust. Well, it started suckering

about two years after planting and then the entire paddle shaped leaves started going partially pinnate terminally. Then recently the leaves are reverting back to entire. I imagine over time it will probably throw both entire and partially pinnate. The suckers have been very slow growing and the

main stalk still dominates which, in my experience, is unusual.

A rather diminutive palm, but nice scale and probably better planted in groupings. It's cousin P. acuminata is a monster by comparison.

There are photos of both leaf types and the suckers.

I also have no idea how to control the line spacing on this site.

Nice Tim. I had one of these in my SoCal garden for about 5 years. Just last winter it rotted. Which was odd cause it was a mellow winter. I think these are long-term options here in the perfect microclimate.
