Crotons and Bromeliads in SD

Hello,

I am looking for a local source that grows and sells crotons and bromeliads and haven't had much luck in searching for one. Anyone know of one or grow these themselves?

Lowes and HD usually carry the common varieties of both broms and crotons (at least the crotons that reasonably grow here, like "Mammy"). At North County I can sometimes find some pretty nice stuff in the greenhouse at the Green Thumb nursery. Also, broms are easy to get via mail order from ebay.

Bird Rock Tropicals in Encinitas is a great place for bromeliads. I've been there many times and I highly recommend it. Sorry I can't help you find crotons.

Crotons are a tough find here in SC. As Pando said, Lowes and HD do carry them at times......Remember that crotons are not an easy grow for us unless you have the right ones. Mammies do well for me and I have sourced mine from HD.

As for bromeliads, I just gave away over 100 plants this past week. PM me if your interested.
