Carol Hooper

Everyone:

I was advised yesterday by Don Hodel that Carol Hooper, formerly of La Habra, passed away yesterday at about 11 a.m. in a hospice. She was there for an inoperable brain tumor.

Will advise as to times, places, etc. of memorial services, if any.

Until very recently, Carol and her husband Louis lived "down the hill" from me in La Habra, and I had occasion to spend many a happy afternoon with them. Occasionally, I had taken pictures and posted them on Palm Talk.

RIP Carol, miss you.

So sad to hear. Thoughts and prayers going out to the family. A few years ago I had the honor to visit their garden and they were such great hosts.

This whole thing came almost like a bolt from the blue. Scary, indeed.

Very sad news and I am so sorry to hear this. Ever since I first became involved with palms and joined the PSSC some 26 years ago, Louie and Carol have always been wonderful friends and while living in the San Diego area I would drive up and visit them every now and then, and of course always see them, and have a chat, at all the PSSC meetings. My sincere condolences to Louie and the family. Carol will truly be missed by many of us.

This was the Hoopers' house, taken about 5 years ago. Their use of brick for paving inspired me, though I haven't put in a brick driveway. (Yet.)

This makes me so sad. She was a really wonderful person, and I can't imagine Louie without Carol. My sincere condolences to Louie and their family.

I miss them so much. Carol was Louis' capable caregiver.

Still, Louis is in good hands; one of his children is a health care professional.

Most of their wonderful plants have been removed and re-homed.

My wife Kathy & I really enjoyed meeting and spending time with Carol & Louie at palm society gatherings. Carol had an energetic spirit and loving energy and she will be dearly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Louie and his family.
