Best fertilizer spikes?

Hello, I am very new to growing palms. I have 4 small parlor palms so far and am looking to provide some fertilizer. I checked my local dollar store and bought these:

Would they be ok, or would something like these from Amazon be better?

Personally I've never used them but I'm sure they will work. For indoor palms I like to use slow release palm fertilizer and they do great. It's also a good idea to rinse the soil once in a while because it will build up salts.
