Hi all, please can you tell me what this palm is? It's the only seed I've managed to germinate from my trip to Borneo.

Is it adonidia? Fruit was bright red.IMG_20170130_161259.thumb.jpg.5b996acda0

Yup, Adonidia. One of my favorites!

Thanks Matt.

Hope my little palm doesn't mind being inside all of its life!

Seems to me they don't mind being inside all that much: http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/45187-what-is-this-palm-seen-in-fancy-hotel-called-pelican-hill-in-socal/

I have a pair that I have sitting in a southern facing window that seem to love it.

Excellent! It can sit next to my little spindle palm :-)

I did a bit of collecting myself in Samoa

Brought them back to OZ.

Collected the seeds and left them near my fale, and had hermit crabs clean the pulp of the seeds.

They loved:rolleyes: it

The photo was taken in my hotel grounds in Sepilok. We then went to stay next to the Kinabatangan River, then finished in Kota Kinabalu.

Didn't get many seeds - some adonidia, one wodyetia, a few livistona, areca. After seeing millions of african oil palms where it used to be rainforest, i didn't manage to get any seeds!

Also, a whole road flanked with lipstick palms for about a mile with no seeds either!
