Sylvester Palm Growing Crooked

My Sylvester Palm that was planted about 1.5 years ago is going crooked at a slight angle. How do I correct or what steps do I need to take?  The Sylvester has about 3-3.5 feet of wood.  Please see attached photo. Thank you.

Does it feel loose if you wobble the palm? If it is loose you may be able to stake it upright. If it feels firm there is probably not too much you can do. The top of the palm should grow straight up but you will have the curved trunk.

I'll check if the sylvester is somewhat loose when I get home tonight. 

What would happen if it's firm and if I dig around it to stake it upright?

Why do you want to straighten it up so badly?  I think they look better with a lil' curve.

Because I do not want the Sylvester growing at an angle specially in the front of my house. I guess just a preference. If it was a coconut tree then it would be fine.

My experience is that once a woody trunk gets a curve in it you won't be able to straighten it.

On the other hand you could stake it up straight and live with the bit of curve it has.

Pardon my in-experience, but will the woody trunk eventually start growing straight -up or will it always grow at a slight angle?

It should grow straight up from now on, especially if it is in full sun. Also, date palms can look cool with a slight curve.

If it hasn't curved and you straighten it, it will keep growing straight.

If you were going to try to straighten it, you could probably accomplish it using a big ratchet strap. You'd need something very solid to anchor it to, of course.
