Good to hear the positive news.  Would be fun to visit your operation someday.

Would love to have you come by and visit. I open the garden up to the public every Saturday during the LinuxCabal Install fests from 15:00 to 21:00

This thread is awesome! Thank you for saving such a nice palm.

Thanks to Mohsen and awkonradi for the funds to make the rescue possible. I rescued one out of my own pocket but couldn't come up with the funds to save the other. I was rescuing 2 LARGE cycas circinalis and one large cycas revoluta that were mealy bug infested with an owner who figured that they wouldn't net him any cash before he sold his garden center, so he decided to let the bugs eat them in a back corner. It cost me almost 100 dollars to save the three and one of them is actually flushing now that I have killed the mealy bugs and changed the soil to a faster draining configuration.

The majority of my garden is made up of distressed plants that needed rescue. It's the only way that I can afford the beautiful plants that I have.

Here are some pics to show how the Licuala adopted by Mohsen and Awkonradi is faring

Licuala-2.jpg.b05b1159daa8c349b15cbc839dLicuala-3.jpg.305a625b59a3bdfe0c73a8173eLicuala-1.jpg.e8380528cf59e291fe2ea66f95

It has been beastly hot this spring and all of the plants in the garden have suffered a bit as a result. If I water sufficiently to combat the heat I risk root rot... Can't win for loosing, but as you can see, the Licuala is faring nicely and now that spring is over and we are entering our rainy and cooler season, the plants will recuperate quickly and obtain this years growth.

It's baan a while since I reported on the health of the licuala adopted by Mohsen and awkonradi. As you can see from the photo below which was taken yesterday, it's doing great. Lot's of new growthAdoptedLicuala.jpg.93c91b60ec62f032bc30b9bb1930f4a4.jpg

It's nestled in amongst other shade lovers and doing really well. It actually accepts a bit of sun without going hysterical.

Thanks
