Are sure about that ? They look same but the rotundifolius seeds are not large like the ones you can see in the picture!

But if one considers L jenkinsiana and L speciosa as two different species the more ovoid shape of the fruits looks more like L speciosa.

No it is not in Morocco, it is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.I got some seeds from there, and I will plant them in Morocco (I will try some indoors and some outdoors),

I found in the web that they could grow in some temperate climate (some Jenkinsiana probably same cold tolerance as Speciosa  grow in california : http://www.palmpedia.net/palmsforcal/Livistona_jenkinsiana).

If anyone already tried to grow them outdoor in a temperate climate, please share your experience.

Thanks.

  • 1 year later...

Hello,

After one year I got few seedlings now with 2-3 leaves but I'm still not sure if it's a Livistonia speciosa! The seedlings looks just like Bismarkia's and the seeds are same size as Bismarkia seeds!
I will take some picture's tomorrow if it can help.

Thanks
