Historical palm ID?

Hi All,

Can anyone identify the palm featured in this century-old photo? Is it just a Trachycarpus that has gotten a bit etiolated from growing indoors, or could it be a Cryosophila or Thrinax or something like that?

Apparently my great-grandfather bought it for $700(?!) sometime around 1917, and the photo would have been taken in New York not long after that. He was not a plant collector as far as I know, so I assume it would have been something that was relatively common (if overpriced!) at the time.

Appreciate your expertise.
