Zombia Antillarum -- no trunk yet.  The most distinctive feature of this palm at the thorny thatch formations around the trunk.  But I don't think I'll be seeing that for at least a decade

THis spot used to have a Phoenix canariensis -- but it died so I replaced it with a white petiole Dypsis-- Dypsis leucomalia.  This is really slow growing--this is an 8 year old palm and I still don't have a trunk

A couple of Licuala mapu that I planted in the ground.  There use to be 3 of them but the sun was too intense and killed one so I have to put this net over them for protection

Nannorhops richtiana (did I spell that correctly?).  The surrounding palms have crowded it out but it's still hanging on there.  This is the first palm I put I the ground myself

Quite a picture!

Here in California, that Nanno would be towering above the dead husks of the others.

LOVE all your pictures, keep posting them.

We'll forgive Bo for his omissions . . . . :)

Attalea butyraceam-- those leaves by my estimate are about 30 feet tall and at this point I don't think it even has a trunk yet.  THese are just leaves shooting out of the ground

Kind of crowded:  Bismarkia nobilis, Copernicia alba and you can see the new leaf of the Chambeyronia peeking out

Great photos, Bo!  Thanks for sharing.

Gene,

That's the nicest Copernicia fallaensis that I've ever seen.  No offense to all of the other amazing ones out there, but I've never seen one with such vigor, color, and overall health.

Coccothrinax macroglossa var Azul -- but the rains always wash away the waxy coating so it is never as 'azul' as it should be

It was sold to me as a dwarf Arenga hookeriana -- is there such a thing?  Makes for a nice 2 foot tall ground cover

Not my best looking palm -- Caryota zebrine.  This species is suppose to only carry 3 leaves at any given time -- but I count 5 leaves on this one so it must be doing well despite the way it looks
