So I was in Florida (Orlando area) and under what I thought was a group of queen palms was a ton of seeds.  I scooped up a bag full and put them in this pot but what has grown doesn't look like a palm to me - but what do I know.....  Did I bring home weeds??

well that wasn't my plan.  There were thousands of them right at the base of a group of palms.  I didn't notice anything else around.  Guess I only have eyes for palms.

The live oaks might have a chance in Maryland, depending on your location.  They should be good to about 0f, but I don't know how long they will endure extreme cold. Freezing rain is their enemy.

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

I am a Kayaker, Hiker, Bicyclist, and amateur Photographer that loves the outdoors.

We typically get to the single digits a couple times each winter (except this one).  And freezing rain is not uncommon.  But I will let them grow and see what happens with them.
