Paid a visit to my second favourite glasshouse in the UK - wonderful selection of palm trees and thought I'd share some pictures :)

Great pics, James! You've reminded me that I need to get onto Tony at the EPS and arrange a group visit to Kew Gardens for later in the year!

That sounds like a good idea. It is a wonderful garden and too much to see in one day, especially after driving for nearly 30 mins to find a parking space (note to self - don't visit gardens when the kids are not at school)

Beautiful palms and pictures, thank you.

But:

Carludovica do not belong to palms (Arecaceae family), even if the ressemble so much,  but to Cyclanthaceae family. You can see the flower on this post:

Thank you, they do partially resemble palms and a novice like myself didn't tell the difference as I know some palms clump.

upon looking again at the label it does indeed show the family they say - and what an interesting flower.
