Favorite Threads?

Check it out... Most Valuable PalmTalk Threads.  Yesterday I donated (homepage upper right) $5 dollars to the International Palm Society (IPS).  And then I started a list!  

Let's say that you love this thread with all the great pics of Loran Whitelock's outstanding garden.  Do you want me to add this thread to the list?  If so, you can donate $5 dollars to the IPS and I'll add it!  If you donate $10 dollars then I'll place the Whitelock thread above the Orchids on Palms thread.  

Please stick with $5 dollar increments because my math isn't so great.  

Do you get the idea?  We use our money to collectively create a list of the most valuable PalmTalk threads.  And we help to support the IPS.  

If you're currently a member of the IPS then it means that you've already donated $55 dollars.  So you can share your favorite threads and rank them using your $55 dollars.  If your only favorite thread is this one about orchid seeds germinating on a tree  then you'd put your $55 dollars next to it and I'd update the list accordingly.  You could also go for breadth and list 10 of your favorite threads and place $5 dollars next to each one.  

I recently shared this idea with the IPS but figured it's easy enough to see if there's any interest among the forum members.  Then the IPS can make a more informed decision whether this is something that they would be interested in doing officially.  If they decided that they were interested, then maybe they could embed the list in the Forum homepage and in their website homepage.  Google sheets are very easy to embed in any webpage.  

If you simply want to share some favorite threads with the rest of us then please feel free to do so!  Given enough eyeballs, all Easter Eggs are conspicuous (Linus's Law... kinda).
