Dypsis rosea as indoor plant?

I have one of these coming and wondering how it might do indoors, as an understory palm.  Any thoughts or advice?

I've had two now and neither made it for me. Last one came in soil media it grew in. Very fast draining, kept it damp and about 2ft away from East facing window. One by one leaves dried up and died. Too much sun? not humid enough? not sure.

I bought one for my daughter in San Diego to keep inside her apt. It did NOT get good care at all and while it did finally die it took a while so think it was due to the lack of water.

That's not encouraging, Scott.  I have my new acquisition potted up and in my study - but I suppose I could move it outside pretty soon since spring is just about upon us.

Josh O on here has had them so maybe he can give you some insight.  The one I bought from my daughter I bought from Josh and it was a nice healthy palm.
