Hi, this is my germination coconut :)  I am really happy! :) Coconut is still in the bucket with heat set at 34 C and covered with foil to reduce evaporation heat.

Very nice!  I've never had any success with it.  I'll have to try what you did and see if I have better results.

Would a reptile warming mat from a pet store be warm enough to encourage a coconut to sprout?

Important, that the coconut was damp and wet conditions. How you want to heat this mat?

Hello.

I"d like an advise, cause my coconut in ziplockbag with some warm water starting to moldy.

I let the bag on a heated mat for 21 days.....

So, nothing else than a ziplock bag, coconut and 1/2 cup of water, warm on heated mat.

Thank you

@wagner You didn't changed your water during that 21 days? I think you should have done so, at least every day or so...

I would remove most of the water. In the third grade we just used a wet paper towel to control the moisture and had great success with beans and peas.

I’m surprised that at the stage your in you have no roots. My root is half way down the nut and the sprout not green yet

I have tried this as well with limited success.  I would advise to watch the temperature inside any container setting on a heat mat.  There is really no place for the heated water and temperature to dissipate(it can get really hot inside the container.  I set mine inside a zip lock bag, in a bowl on top of my water heater in the closet.  You have to check on the coconut every few days to make sure there is still water and also to wash off any fungi that may begin to grow before it gets to bad.  This is a real test of patience.  Sprouting was successful but then all failed.  I will be interested to see the success rate amongst you coco-heads :D.
