I've never had accounts with the social media. I just got a flip-phone that a friend gave me (first cell phone I've owned) and I've used it three or four time in as many months.

Cheers, Barrie.

Meh.  Haters gonna hate.   I Don't deny his points as they are true.    Its not a necessary thing for life in this day and age (yet).  The one thing I will disagree with him on is that its hamrful.  Well, so is almost anything when its done to excessive amounts.    There are always going to be haters and detractors of everything.  I take them with a gain of salt.   My life is perfectly fine with Social Media, and without it.  I was an earlier adopter of Social Media. Ive learned to limit it, and to know it for what it is.  I know that when I do go on facebook, which i don't that often other than to share my photography anymore, I also take what I see with a very large grain of salt.  I know that the majority of people that post on Facebook, only post exactly as this man said. Carefully curated items that make their lives look fantastic.  I also know that those posts are just one tiny facet of an other wise very real and imperfect life.  What you see is not what you get there.   For me Social Media is an important tool, and something that can be used to ones advantage, when used correctly.   To me, I think overreacting in either direction, for, or against (as is this mans case) are both wrong and detrimental.   While I am a huge proponent of disconnected time such as reading that book by a fire, or going out into nature untethered  to the modern world, I also realise that we live in 2017. We are in the future of my childhood.  Instead of bucking that and remaining stiff,  acceptance, ability to change and adapt and  felxibility to keep with modern times are a key and important part of life, just as much so as keeping alive good old tried and true things that still are proven to work and be healthy.
