Pritchardia bakeri in Habitat

Excellent. I hope to one day grow this palm!

I heard back in 2011-2012, that there was some kind of Native Plant Initiative group that wanted to collect martii, bakeri, and kahukuensis seeds with the goal of propagating and out-planting those species into public areas so people could retrieve seeds from them without disturbing wild populations. No idea how it all panned out though.

Colin, great picture.  Someday I would love to get up there to take a look.  Are you collecting any seed yet?

Hoping that my seedling looks like this someday!  Just planted it over the weekend.  I'll keep pulling the banana stalks back away from it, to give it room to grow, but I've had it in the shade since it came out of Matt's green house a few months back.
