Does anyone have photos of palms starting to form duel trunks? I never seen what that looks like.

That waggie is incredible...I wonder what would happen if I planted two palms only inches away from eachother? I heard they grow faster to compete for sunlight but it might give that double headed look! Hmmm:P

Chamaedorea cataractarum does it all of the time,

sorry no pic.

Cheers Steve

It is not dead, it is just senescence.

That Waggie looks like it's been decapitated at some stage causing two trunks to form. Look at the size of the main trunk compared to the two new trunks. Still an interesting palm. Here is a branching lutescens.

Given that some of the suckers are coming out of the trunk on this Phoenix Dactylifera, I may end up with trunks going everywhere:

Not a dual, but a six headed Archontophoenix alexandrae.

Dual trunks are very rare even here where palms are abundant in most areas.
