At what temperature do windmill palms foliage burn? We don't get that many days here of below 15F. Would it be possible to just wrap the trunks with lights etc. to keep the meristems safe until expecting below 15 or so? I hate to completely cover them all winter just for a few days of super cold but don't want to fry the foliage either lol. Also any tips on how to keep water out of the top so it won't freeze if not completely covered with leaves exposed?

No, they will be just fine.  They didnt get above 29 all day today so they'll be around 70 hours straight below freezing. These big trees were planted early this year. They chickened out an covered the brahea armata. It is only a 15g size plant though.

Damage begins around 15F but larger palms would not need their trunks

covered for those temps,by the time the leaves are brown there may be

the beginnings of spear damage.
