They'll do fine in your zone. I know people in zone 5 growing them. Most cut the p-stem about 2' above ground before winter and cover with mulch and they regain all their height over the following summer.

this may siound stupid but if i got one could I plant it now?  it gets down to the 20s and low 30s at night.
