check out the front yard of this house near Balboa Park and the Zoo.

I don't know if this is one of the palm nutz on the forum - but it is pretty cool

zoom in on the photos to see the cross section of companion plants that can grow here because of the amazing weather we have.....

 

here is the walkway to the front of the house :

Nice find.  I love the look of palms ans cacti together.  I do have an affinity for cacti and succulents too.  Some nice Opuntia in there.  Is that one on the far right an organ pipe?    One thing I don't see though is Cylindropuntia bigelovii.  (Teddy Bear Cholla).  I wonder why.  ;-).   They are one of my favorite cacti though.

thats what I am talking about........in S Cali you see Palms with Cacti and succelents

pretty bitchin look.......if anyone is not from around here and are going to visit....check out the Huntington gardens to my north 

 

well worth it for this look taken to the ultimate extreme
